Flylight Drone Shows & Verge Aero Make History at UT Austin with First-Ever Pyro Drone Show!

On July 1, 2024, the sky over UT Austin came alive like never before. In celebration of the University of Texas Longhorns’ official induction into the SEC, Flylight Drone Shows teamed up with Verge Aero to present the first-ever public Pyro Drone Show display! This jaw-dropping spectacle combined dazzling pyrotechnics with intricate drone formations, delivering a one-of-a-kind experience that left spectators awestruck.

The Concept: A Bold Welcome to the SEC

The UT Longhorns’ move to the SEC was monumental, and we knew the celebration needed to be just as big. From UT fans to Austin residents, the excitement was palpable, and we wanted to create something as unforgettable as this new chapter in Texas football history.

The Show: Fire & Flight in Perfect Harmony

Using state-of-the-art drones from Flylight Drone Shows and Verge Aero, we set the night ablaze with over 500 drones synchronized with stunning pyrotechnics. Highlights included massive Longhorn visuals, bursts of SEC imagery, and a final fire-lit Longhorn symbol that illuminated the entire campus. Each element was precisely choreographed, bringing together art, technology, and fire in an iconic display.

Breaking New Ground with Pyro Drone Technology

This show was a groundbreaking event for Flylight Drone Shows and Verge Aero. As pioneers of Pyro Drone shows, we’re passionate about pushing the limits of drone art and enhancing it with the dramatic effect of pyrotechnics. This was the first public showcase of such technology, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive.

Looking Forward

The UT Austin Pyro Drone Show was a milestone, but it’s only the beginning. Our mission is to continue setting new standards in drone shows, delivering custom and memorable displays for all kinds of celebrations.
